Islamabad: COMSTECH Distinguished Scientist, Professor Dr. Murtaza Najabat Ali visited Universitas Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia in the COMSTECH Distinguished Scholar Program.
Prof. dr. Murtaza Najabat Ali is a KOMSTECH Distinguished Scientist in biomaterials, drug delivery systems, and medical device research and development. Revive Medical Technologies (RMT) Inc. is a medical device and healthcare equipment R&D company based in the US with an R&D facility in Pakistan. CEO of the company. His expertise includes passive and active/wearable medical devices, AI-based solutions, biomaterials and drug delivery systems.
His visit, scheduled from April 16 to April 19, was organized in collaboration with the UiTM Faculty of Engineering. Prof. Murtaza was warmly welcomed by Professor Hamidah Mohd Saman, Assistant Vice Chancellor of UiTM College of Engineering. UiTM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Shahreen bin Sahib, holding an effective discussion, expressed great interest in utilizing the expertise of Prof. Murtaza to improve UiTM’s research capabilities and bridge the gap between academic research and the biomedical industry.
During his visit, Professor Murtaza spoke at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Soltan Abdullah Hospital and UiTM College of Engineering. He also works with the Business Innovation and Technology Commercialization Center (BITCOM) at UiTM, providing insights on strategies to overcome challenges in the commercialization process and FDA approval for biomedical products.
In addition, he shared his experience in an interview on Konti Radio UFM 93.6Mhz UiTM and highlighted the role of COMSTECH in promoting scientific research and cooperation among OIC member states.
In addition, Professor Murtaza toured various medical research centers in the campus of UiTM Sungai Buloh and the Institute of Medical Molecular Biotechnology (IMMB).
Prof. Murtaza’s visit to UiTM demonstrates the commitment of COMSTECH and UiTM to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange in biomedical research and development.
