The 20th February the globe observes as the day with tinkling the thought-provoking idea of “World Day of Social Justice on February 20th”, but it is the better to coherent the idea with the burning problem of the world i.e., the developing of drastic climatic change in the environment, which affects directly on the life of animate in this planet. So, the social justice and climatic change are the intersection problem in the recent days. The critical issue of climate change and social justice, just like to start by rhetoric that “the acknowledging the elephant in the room”. Today the climatic crises are the problems of an environmental degradation of the world. Moreover, it is a symptom that perpetuates the causes of inequality, injustice, and exploitation among the different nation in a broader systematic way.
In a world it is estimated by the various agencies that the richest population is responsible 1% emissions and 50% by the poorest, which is more than two-fold greater. Moreover, it is not just as a coincidence but it is the confessing of running systems which have set various unrealistic prioritizes in the industries and the developing infra-structure of the communities that prefers their economic profits over lives of the people and environment of the planet. A lopsided impact on relegated communities due to the reason of climatic disaster. Those are already struggling their survival to invoke of from the public sector for availability of pure food and water and health facilities. The most vulnerable populations across the world especially in the developing countries, where they are contributing in emissions of greenhouse gas in the surroundings and bear the brunt of climate-related disasters, displacement, and economic instability.
The fetishization of economic growth and development has led to the commodification of nature, perpetuating the exploitation of marginalized communities and the environment. In addition, the overriding homily on the climate change and frequently obfuscates the historical and systemic disparities that have led to the current crisis of the world, instead promoting and exploring the technocratic solutions of current environmental calamities that reinforce the status quo till now. Social justice demands that the responsible of the communities interrogate the power dynamics and structural discriminations in view of critical perspective on climate change. The pursuit of climate justice is settled down according to the voices, needs, and rights of marginalized communities of the area and promote sustainable development of the area for betterment of societies of general public. Finally, it is concluded that the climate crisis is not just an environmental issue; it is a social justice issue. That directly relates the matter of human rights, equivalence, and justice.
A proactive response requires in this regard for the stakeholders that is decided at the root level for the solidarity, sympathy, and with a commitment to build a better future for all animate around the world. There are the following Key Issues at the Intersection of Climate Change and Social Justice: The vulnerable populations in the world have unpredictable impact on climate change e.g the poor, indigenous race of people, and developing states or small island have directly or indirectly connected with the climate change and linkage with human rights, such as the basic right of life and its health and up to the mark of living standard. Because, it is need to balance the economic development with environmental protection and social justice, ensuring that the benefits of development are shared equitably.
Furthermore, the impact of climate change on human migration, including the displacement of communities and the loss of livelihoods. For the way forward it must be adopted a multifaceted approach that prioritizes the needs of marginalized communities that includes: firstly, advocating for policies and practices that address the root causes of climate change and prioritize the needs of vulnerable populations. Secondly, encouraging sustainable development practices that balance economic development with environmental protection and social justice. Last not least for ensuring that the human rights of marginalized communities are protected and respected in the face of climate change. PAKISTAN PAINDA BAD
