PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Tuesday said that clearance operation has been started in Chitral, Shangla, Dir and Kohistan areas to clear the blocked roads for traffic.
An official release issued here said that Ashrait to Lowari Tunnel road, Shihkoh to Madaklasht road, Ursoon, Gharam Chashma to Gobor, Chitral to Booni and Torkhow roads were blocked during heavy snowfall in the area.
Similarly, main Dir – Chitral road blocked at Lowari Tunnel besides link roads including Barawal, Usherai Dara, Kohistan, Kumrat, Goag Dara, Amluknar, Hayagay and Sheringal were blocked in Dir.
In Kohistan Zaid Ghar, Samar Nullah main KKH road was blocked due to landsliding while KKH road was also blocked at Shaitan Pari and Qawai Mor near Pattan.
It said that various road leading to Shangla Top, Yakhtangi, Kandaw – Chakesar were blocked in Shangla, adding that the joint teams of district administrations and NHA have started clearance operation and soon the roads would be cleared.
