Due to the ongoing conflict in Kurram district of kpk the life system has been disrupted while the educational institutes are closed due to the closure of traffic and transportation in the area. There has been a shortage of food and drink items which has had a very bad impact on the local population.
This has been going on intermittently for two years in Kuram which has brought life to a standstill because after a ceasefire for some time then the issue has resurfaced leaving many locals frustrated. In that regard the efforts made by the governments and administration have not been successful. Recently due to inter-tribal clashes in various parts of Khurram, other traffic routes including Parachinar Peshawar highway have been blocked.
According to the leaders the life system of the people is badly affected by the clash between the tribes in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On the other hand, police officials have told the media that due to clashes between tribes in different places other roads including Parachinar Peshawar highway are closed. While talking about this, Chairman Private Schools Management Muhammad Hayat Khan told that due to the tense situation in the district educational institutions have also been closed for a week while DC Kurram Javed ullah Mehsud said that to stop the fighting, the Jirga Efforts are being made to open the way and steps are being taken to establish long lasting peace. According to local people due to the tense situation, Parachinar main highway and Pak-Afghan Kharlachi border has been closed for the ninth day today.
There can be no doubt about the efforts made by the government and the administration to maintain peace because during this time precious lives of the administration have also been lost, but peace needs to intensify efforts in which both sides But it is inevitable to put pressure on the part of the government so that the ceasefire can be delayed in the future. According to the elders hundreds of people have lost their lives in this conflict that has been going on in these years but that process is not stopping which is very worrying for the future generations, especially the children who are now entering in practical life. It is not only difficult for them to continue their education but they are forced to migrate abroad or to other cities of the country due to which their relationship with their homeland is detached.
There are negative effects on life while the effects of this conflict are also likely to be transferred to other districts, from which anti-social elements are sitting ready to take advantage. If steps are not taken by the government to solve this important problem on a war footing, it will further promote the gun culture in the region and it will lag further behind in the race of literacy and development.
This will further increase the deprivation of the residents living here. It is hoped that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will take notice of this important issue and use all the official resources to settle the dispute between the parties as well as intensify the efforts to end the enmity between the two parties through local Jirgas.
Apart from Kurram, the leading personalities of other tribal districts and Jirga leaders who have relations with both communities of Kurram also need to offer their services for this good work so that this bloody conflict can be stopped but all these efforts can be effective only if the parties themselves show resilience as the fighting is having a negative impact on the tribal areas as a whole which are already disposed to the scourge of terrorism where Long-standing hostilities are further worsening the environment.
If these leaders do not take notice the situation may worsen in the coming times, for which not only all stakeholders will be responsible but the most responsibility will be on the leaders of these two warring groups. Therefore, contact between the government and the parties should be restored as soon as possible. The longer this good work is delayed, the more it will endanger the peace of these regions. Hope good news will start coming from Kurram district very soon.
