Islamabad: The Chief Judge of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi approved the transfer of judges as a constitutional and constructive step and emphasized the need for the appointment of more judges from various provinces to ensure a wider representation in the judiciary. The justice of Afridi, who spoke to the Association for the Association of the Association in Islamabad, dealt with concern about the transfer of judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and said that Islamabad is represented by the Center. He said, “We are sent to school to become a master,” he added that he has no objections to transfers because they were made according to the constitutional provisions. Referring to Article 200, he pointed out that Balochi-Moving and Sindhi-moving judges joined IHC and strengthened national integration. He also stated that the federation belongs to the whole country and the inclusion of judges from various provinces was a welcome step. Asked about the reservations of the judges about the transfers, he assured the main judge that he was actively working to resolve concerns and would continue to be efforts in this respect. “I will meet all judges, including the Supreme Courts, and everything will be resolved over time,” he added. Last week, three judges – from Sindh, Balochistan and Lahore – were transported to IHC, which caused serious criticism of the legal brotherhood. Judge Sarfraz Dogar from the Supreme Court in Lahore, Judge Khadim Hussain Soomro of Sindh High Court and Judges Muhammad Asif of the Balochistan High Court was among those who were transported to the federal territory. They also started their duties. Bar Islamabad (IBC), Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) and Islamabad District Bar Association (IDBA) today observe a strike against movement.
