After sending a monthly electricity bill of over 8.6 million rupees to a tailor, the electric board has now sent a citizen an electricity bill exceeding 2 billion rupees. According to Indian media reports, a citizen from the Himachal Pradesh state, Lalit Dhiman, received an electricity bill of 2 billion 10 crore 42 lakh 8 thousand 405 rupees from the electric board. The bill, which is for December of the previous year, left Lalit Dhiman bewildered.
Lalit Dhiman mentioned that he had paid a 2,500 rupee electricity bill for November last year, but was shocked when he received a bill worth billions for December. Upon complaining to the electric board, they explained that a system error caused the mistake. Subsequently, Dhiman received a corrected bill of 4,047 rupees, which he paid.
Earlier, in Gujarat, a tailor had received an electricity bill of over 8.6 million rupees, which caused him distress. However, after he complained, the electric board corrected the bill and sent a revised bill of 1,540 rupees, which was paid by the tailor, bringing him relief.
