The unveiling of plaques honoring the successful completion of development works in the Chitral Economic Zone, as well as the inauguration of the Industrial Facilitation Office Building, were the ceremony’s highlights. The Chitral EZ, which covers 40 acres, took two years to develop. Industrial investors, members from local chambers of commerce and trade associations, and senior local government officials also attended the event.
The finished infrastructure development works within the zone included roads, sewers, water supply, retaining walls, and an outstanding office complex. Furthermore, 1.72 acres of land have been acquired, indicating a strong response and interest from potential investors.
After full colonization, the Chitral EZ is predicted to generate a large number of job opportunities, contributing significantly to the local economy. The zone’s quick expansion is consistent with the province’s overall goal of fast-paced industrialization.
Chitral Economic Zone has a significant growth potential due to its accessibility via the Lowari Tunnel, which runs along an alternate route of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This alternative route receives significant numbers of tourists each year, positioning Chitral EZ for economic success.
