Beijing: Chinese Vice Premier Ding Suexiang has called on all businesses to support the upcoming 2024 national college entrance exam and take responsibility to make it fair and just.
Ding, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on Sunday reviewed preparations for the exam, also known as gaokao, which usually begins on June 7 each year.
At the Beijing high school test site, Ding was introduced to the test room layout, exam waiting management, and similar services. He also interacted with staff working in the control, broadcast and test rooms.
He accepted their hard work. He also extended heartfelt greetings and thanks on behalf of the Central CCK Committee and the Provincial Council to those who worked to ensure that everything related to the examination continued as planned.
Noting that the number of students registered for this year’s gaokao has reached a record high, Ding called for prudent services in terms of traffic control and heat stroke prevention, as well as noise control and living hygiene, to create a safe and comfortable exam environment. .
At the Beijing Educational Examination Organization, Ding said fairness and security are a way of life for Gaokao, and he wants to regulate privacy and prevent exam fraud.
Data from the Ministry of Education showed 13.42 million students registered for China’s 2024 national college entrance exam, an increase of 510,000 students from last year.
