According to Chinese media, a 40-year-old man in Hunan province was standing in line at a railway station on February 4 to board a train for work when he suddenly collapsed due to a heart attack.
Several people, including a doctor, rushed to his aid, and after about 20 minutes, the man regained consciousness. To everyone’s shock, his first words were, “I need to get to work quickly, I don’t think I need to go to the hospital.”
The doctor on-site urged him to go to the hospital, as he had also sustained injuries from the fall, but the man initially refused. After some persuasion, he reluctantly agreed to go in the ambulance.
This incident left many people in China astonished, with some expressing sympathy for the man. One user commented that after regaining consciousness, his first thought was to make money, while another wrote that he is not alone in this society—many people carry burdens ranging from paying rent to supporting children’s education.
Another user stated, “It’s not easy for anyone.”
