Beijing: China has launched the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) hospital, which will revolutionize traditional healthcare and save millions of lives.
Agent Hospital is a virtual facility with 14 AI doctors and four nurses.
After a few days, doctors in the virtual hospital can treat up to 10,000 patients. In comparison, it would take a human doctor at least two years to reach the same figure.
Before the inauguration, AI doctors were tested on the questions of the US Medical Licensing Examination, and they all achieved an accuracy rate of 93.06%.
Agent Hospital was created by AI researchers at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
The goal is to change the way patients interact with doctors, making healthcare more accessible and speeding up procedures.
According to reports, the hospital will be operational by the end of 2024.
The AI program is expected to be rolled out first to medical schools to train real doctors. Virtual doctors will eventually be sent to patients in Chinese hospitals.
Liu Yangang, the leader of the research team, believes that AI hospitals will be able to predict and stimulate medical scenarios such as the next pandemic outbreak.
