Islamabad: Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtyor Saidov today invited Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sherif on a two-day visit to Pakistan. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan congratulated the Prime Minister on his re-election, and also handed over the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyev to Prime Minister Muhammed Shehbaz Sherif for an official visit to Uzbekistan. The Prime Minister thanked the President of Uzbekistan Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev and said that he wants to meet with him.
The two sides discussed the enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in the fields of trade and economy, security and defense, communication and people-to-people contacts.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is willing to work with Uzbekistan to speed up and complete all bilateral trade and communication projects. He emphasized Pakistan’s willingness to allow Uzbekistan access to Pakistani ports.
