Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has been granted bail in three more cases related to the party’s November 26 protest in Islamabad.
The anticipatory bail was granted by Justice Shabbir Bhatti of the Islamabad District and Sessions Court on Thursday. The court granted bail against a surety bond of Rs 50,000 till January 13, 2025, Express News reported.
Bushra Bibi appeared in court with her legal team for hearing the cases registered against her at Tarnol police station and Ramna police station, which included a total of four First Information Reports (FIRs).
This follows the recent decision of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi, which granted her interim bail in 32 other cases related to the same protest. These cases were filed at several police stations in Rawalpindi, Attock and Chakwal.
Earlier on December 23, an Islamabad court deferred its verdict in the £190 million corruption case against former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.
The verdict was initially scheduled for today after the court reserved its decision on December 18, Express News reported.
However, Justice Nasir Javed Rana announced that the decision would be postponed, keeping in view the upcoming winter vacation and the high court’s course. The court’s official winter break begins on December 24 and runs through January 1.
The judge said that the verdict on Imran and Bushra will be pronounced on January 6, 2025.
