In a bizarre incident in India, a bride refused to marry the groom at the last moment because he did not have a government job.
According to foreign media reports, the incident took place in the Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh, where the wedding party had to return empty-handed after the bride’s refusal.
The reports revealed that the groom worked as an engineer in a private company, earning over INR 100,000 per month. He also owned six plots of land and 20 acres of farmland. Despite his impressive financial status, the bride declined to marry him, stating that he did not have a government job.
Indian media reported that the wedding rituals had begun when someone informed the bride that the groom did not hold a government position. Following this revelation, she refused to proceed with the ceremony.
Both families tried to persuade the bride, but she remained firm in her decision. In an attempt to convince her, the groom’s family presented his salary receipts, and the groom even arranged to have his salary slip sent via phone and showed it to the bride’s family. However, the bride was unmoved, and the wedding party eventually returned.
