SWAT: A bride was injured during firing on a procession , while a 9-month-old bride was shot and killed in Koz Lalku area of Matta Tehsil in Swat District.
The police have arrested the person who fired, who is the cousin of the groom.
DSP Matta Circle Shaukat Ali said that the incident took place at that time, when the wedding procession of a young boy named Hazrat Ali reached outside his house, adding that As soon as the bride was being taken out of the car and entered the house, there was a sudden firing.
He said that Hazrat Ali’s cousin Mian Aql Jan fired and as a result of which the bride Humira daughter Bacha Muhammad got injured on the arm while her cousin nine months old bride Mst Naila Bibi wife of Tahirullah died in the firing.
“The deceased was married nine months ago and she was participating in her maternal cousin’s wedding procession.He said.
According to the police the deceased’s brother Hameedullah told the police that the accused Mian Aqil Khan opened fire on both women as soon as the procession arrived.
The reason for the murder is said to be a domestic dispute. Kalakot police has arrested the accused and registered a case of murder and attempted murder against him and further investigation is going on.
The body of the deceased and the injured woman have been shifted to Matta Hospital for postmortem and immediate medical assistance.
