ISLAMABAD: Chief of Naval Staff of Brazilian Armed Forces Admiral Andre Luiz Silva Lima De Santana Mendes on Tuesday called on Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
Matters related to the regional situation and bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting, the press release said.
The Defense Minister said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Brazil and intends to expand cooperation in all fields.
The Defense Minister highlighted Pakistan’s role in the region and its relations with neighboring countries and extended Pakistan’s efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
The two leaders exchanged views on strengthening and diversifying defense cooperation, for which there is considerable potential between the two countries.
The two sides also agreed to institutionalize defense cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding. The regular exchange of trainees to other training institutions was also discussed.
