The body of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a Jewish cleric missing for three days in the UAE, has been discovered, prompting Israel to label the incident as a “brutal anti-Semitic attack.”
According to international media reports, the rabbi belonged to the prominent Orthodox Jewish sect, Chabad-Lubavitch. He was last seen on Thursday at a shopping mall in Dubai.
By Sunday morning, the UAE’s Ministry of Interior declared Rabbi Kogan missing and suspected he had been abducted.
Later, UAE authorities confirmed the discovery of his body and announced the detention of three suspects in connection with the murder. However, the identities of the suspects have not been disclosed.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to ensure justice, stating, “We will take all necessary actions to bring those responsible for the rabbi’s murder to justice.”
Israeli media alleged Iranian involvement in the incident.
Iran dismissed the accusations, calling them baseless and fabricated.
Reports indicate that Rabbi Zvi Kogan also held Moldovan citizenship and had traveled to Dubai using a Moldovan passport.
