WELLINGTON: Michael Bracewell will lead New Zealand during their tour of Pakistan in a five-match T20I series later this month.
Trent Boult, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitch Santner, and Kane Williamson will not feature in the series due to Indian Premier League commitments.
Wellington’s Tim Robinson and Canterbury’s Will O’Rourke have been selected in New Zealand’s T20I squad for the first time.
“Bracewell, who will captain the team for the first time, has been sidelined since his last international appearance in March last year, first with a ruptured Achilles and then a broken finger,” New Zealand Cricket said in a press release.
“O’Rourke’s selection caps off a summer in which he made his debut in two other international formats, including the best return on a Test debut for New Zealand: nine for 93 against South Africa.”
The team leaves for Pakistan next Friday (12 April), with the first match in Rawalpindi on Thursday 18 April.
