Islamabad: Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) officials advised foreign job seekers to apply only to foreign job providers to avoid wasting time, money and energy.
Only 2,577 overseas employment promoters (OEP) licenses are available as more than 5,048 licenses have been declared invalid, official sources told.
About 670 licenses from the invalid OEP were canceled for various reasons, 805 expired and the rest were surrendered.
All foreign job seekers are advised to visit the bureau’s official website regularly to get the latest and correct information and protect themselves from illegal OEPs.
Officials said the BEOE was mandated under the Emigration Act, 1979 to regulate emigration, promote emigration of Pakistani nationals and safeguard the interests and welfare of emigrants.
Among other duties, BEOE advises the federal government on immigration policies and procedures, monitors and oversees overseas employment providers through the Immigrant Protection Agency 7, processes Overseas Employment Promoters (OEP) licenses, and provides pre-departure information. to emigrants.
