Lahore: PML-N’s Balighur Rehman has decided to resign from his post as the Governor of Punjab.
The governor reached this decision in a meeting with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.
According to Nawaz, based on the agreement, it was decided to appoint the next governor of Punjab from the PPP.
In a conversation with Balighur Rehman, Nawaz told him that he would be assigned an important task very soon.
On the other hand, PPP has claimed another victory of its own by winning the confidence of MQM-P for tomorrow’s presidential election.
According to reports, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and affiliated parties from Balochistan and the federation have pledged their support to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in the upcoming presidential election.
The decision was reached during a key meeting held at the residence of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui in Islamabad, where a delegation of the PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led by Bilawal Bhutto, Khurshid Shah, Naveed Qamar, Saad Rafique, and others dealing with the MQM leadership .
