ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government has challenged the lower court’s May 9 order canceling the bail of the accused in the Supreme Court.
The Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court judge became a party to the petition. The Punjab government made the request through the Attorney General.
In the petition, the government demanded that the listed accused be denied bail.
A list of 57 accused including PTI founder Imran Khan, senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Sheikh Rashid was submitted to the Supreme Court in this regard.
Anti-terrorism court Rawalpindi granted bail to the accused. the anti-terrorism court’s decision was earlier challenged in the Lahore High Court. The LHC also dismissed the Punjab government’s appeal and imposed the fine.
