LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam set another record in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) history, becoming first batsman to score 3,000 runs in the tournament.
Azam, a right-handed batsman, achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first player to reach 3000 runs in the PSL, surpassing any other player who has yet to breach the 2500-run mark. Despite facing a challenging target of 207 runs, Azam exhibited his exceptional skills by reaching a fifty in just 29 balls. However, despite his impressive performance, scoring 68 runs, Zalmi fell short in their chase, thereby rendering Azam’s brilliant knock in vain.
Azam’s remarkable achievement unfolded over 80 innings, during which he amassed a total of 3004 runs at an impressive average of 44.83. His batting prowess is evident in his record, which includes 29 half-centuries and a century.
