ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar on Friday urged the opposition to play a constructive role in the betterment of the country.
On the floor of the House, he defended the introduction of ordinances in the House and said that all of this would be discussed in committees.
He asked the opposition party to give their input in the meetings.
Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for opposing the ordinance, Tarar said, “The country will not proceed like this. You should do some soul searching; writing letters to the IMF and the EU will not bring any positive results.
He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had issued directives to form National Assembly committees irrespective of the number of seats held by the parties in the parliament.
“The moment these ordinances are laid before this house, they will be transferred to bills. Now these bills will be forwarded by the House to the committees,” said the Law Minister, adding that most of the parties and the opposition would be present in these committees. APP
