Following Azam Khan’s recent performance in the T20 World Cup, former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez on Thursday expressed his opinion on the batsman’s ability to play international cricket.
The former right-handed batsman discussed Azam’s fitness and urged the coach to work on it. However, the former director testified that it was no different.
“The entire Pakistani team can cover two kilometers in 10 minutes, while Azam Khan can cover the distance in 20 minutes,” said Hafeez.
“Unfortunately, Azam Khan is not serious about playing international cricket,” the 43-year-old said.
Former cricketer Moeen Khan’s son did not fare well in the ongoing T20 World Cup. The player took a wicket in the first match against USA, followed by Imad Wasim against India on June 9 and Canada on June 11.
In a previous interview, Hafeez said, “Being relaxed or overmatched has never been a problem for me, but you have to work according to the needs of the game. You have to get your fitness to the required level. We gave him a fitness plan. , but he [Azam] can’t improve.”
“You are in the team because of your intelligence, but you have to answer for your fitness. You are the only person in the team who has agreed because of your fitness,” he said.
