Peshawar– The Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on Wednesday hosted a delegation of 31 mid-career civil servants and two faculty members from the Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM) as part of KIM’s Civil Service Management Training Program.
The delegation, representing various Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) government departments, was warmly welcomed by PIC-MTI CEO and Medical Director, Professor Dr. Shahkar Ahmad Shah, and Acting Hospital Director, Mr. Qazi Saad.
Professor Shah presented an overview of PIC’s mission, vision, and achievements, while Mr. Saad detailed the hospital’s operational structure and key functions.
Professor Shahkar Ahmad Shah expressed his gratitude for the delegation’s choice of visiting PIC for their training, he stated that the visit underscored PIC’s excellence and commitment to effective governance.
Mr. Tariq Mehmood Butt, Acting Director General of KIM, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity.
He emphasized that the visit aimed to equip mid-career civil servants with the knowledge and skills necessary for improved service delivery in AJK, focusing on modern governance and service delivery dynamics.
While appreciating PIC’s efficient management and high-quality healthcare services, he also praised the initiative taken by the KP govt for introducing the revolutionary Sehat Card Plus Program benefitting the greater masses of the province.
The delegation participated in a Q&A session, followed by a brief visit of the different functional areas of the hospital.
In the closing remarks They recognized PIC as a leading organization to adapt healthcare reforms and a source of pride for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan.
