According to international media, Darlington Public School, located in the suburban area of Chippendale in Sydney, Australia, has outshone all skyscrapers in beauty and design.
Reports state that the school won the “World Building of the Year 2024” title at the World Architecture Festival held in Singapore, where it competed against 220 stunning and tall buildings.
Interestingly, this school’s building had also earned top recognition in 2013 at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki for its remarkable architecture.
The building, originally old, was transformed into an architectural masterpiece by Sydney architects. It features a distinctive sawtooth roof design, a large basketball court for students, and a community garden.
The World Architecture Festival comprised 18 different categories. Other notable entries included a housing complex for senior citizens in Singapore and a waste-to-energy power plant built on a rooftop in Copenhagen, Denmark.
