Renowned Pakistani model and actress Faryal Mehmood stated that when she heard about the passing of her aunt Roohi Bano, she felt peace, knowing that she is now in a better place, as life had been very difficult for her.
Recently, the actress appeared on a private TV channel’s program, where host Ushna Shah asked her several questions, one of which was about her late aunt Roohi Bano. Faryal Mehmood shared that Roohi Bano was her mother’s first cousin, and she passed away in Turkey, but she did not leave this world in poverty.
The actress explained that Roohi Bano and her family had very close ties, yet, in her final days, she went away somewhere. Faryal searched for her but couldn’t find her, later discovering that she was in Turkey.
According to Faryal, the once-popular actress had been suffering from a mental disorder, schizophrenia, for a long time, and her condition worsened with age. In her final days, she couldn’t even go to the washroom by herself. Despite having a degree in psychology, she couldn’t understand her own illness.
Faryal also shared that when she was younger, her mother would tell her that her aunt never wore the same color for her salwar kameez, but once she received a script and came in front of the camera, she would act perfectly, as if she was born for the role.
Faryal Mehmood further revealed that Roohi Bano’s only son, Ali, was murdered for the sake of property. While he was alive, he cared for his mother, but after his death, Roohi became more shattered. When she was admitted to the hospital, she would run away and return home, fearing that someone would take over her house. She even refused to go to the hospital for treatment because of this fear.
The actress said that in her final days, Roohi Bano went to live with her sister in Turkey, where she passed away. Hearing the news of her death brought peace, knowing that she was now in a better place.
