Following an attack on the Bangladeshi consulate in India, the Indian ambassador was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.
According to the Bangladeshi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the incident was premeditated, and protesters were deliberately not stopped. The ministry urged India to ensure the security of the consulate.
Relations between Delhi and Dhaka have been tense since the overthrow of former authoritarian Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed’s government in August, following a student-led movement.
