MULTAN: Pacer Mohammad Amir has urged newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take action after his family was manhandled during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9 match in Multan.
Amir accused the deputy commissioner of Multan of “arrogantly claiming ownership of the land” and “improperly evicting” his family during the match.
It should be noted that Amir is playing for Quetta Gladiators in PSL this season after leaving Karachi Kings.
Earlier, former fast bowler Amir revealed that he is currently not thinking of coming back from international retirement.
The 31-year-old expressed his joy in league cricket saying, “I would feel the absence of international cricket if I didn’t play cricket. I enjoy league cricket and I don’t mean international cricket.”
Amir also emphasized the importance of playing an impactful role in T20 cricket, stating, “My aim is to impact the match because having a complete impact is more important than just taking wickets.
“If the team needs a bouncer at that moment, I’ll give them a bouncer. Until you create pressure, you won’t get wickets. Scoring centuries and taking five wickets won’t do any good if the team loses. My focus is not just to take wickets, but to play an impactful role in the match.”
