QUETTA: Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Amir Muqam on Friday said that all efforts will be made to ensure the protection of miners and essential equipment as coal mine workers are an asset of the country. Workers work hard and contribute to the country’s economy and development, Amir Muqam said while addressing a ceremony held in honor of coal mine workers. He said that people associated with coal mines would be given all facilities and privileges to avoid tragic incidents at mining sites. He said that the mines where there was injustice with the workers will be sealed and the ban will also be imposed on those mines in the province that lack preventive measures. Amir Muqam said that no compromise will be made on the protection and rights of workers working in the coal mine. The government has made it a key priority to provide workers with all possible facilities so that all their legitimate demands are met. He also announced 2 ambulances for coal mine workers. Engineer Amir Muqam welcomed the approval of the $7 billion IMF deal to stabilize the country’s economy. “Political rivals PML-N and anti-Pakistan elements tried their best to sabotage the financial deal to plunge the country into a financial crisis, but their nefarious plans failed,” Amir Muqam noted. The federal minister said those who destroy peace cannot be Pakistanis. He urged the people of Balochistan not to participate in the anti-Pakistan campaign that is sabotaging the country’s development and the peace process. He said that everyone has to play their role in maintaining peace and added that no power can separate Balochistan from Pakistan. Under the leadership of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League leader Mian Nawaz Sharif, he steered the country on the path of development and strengthening the economy. Amir Muqam said that the Prime Minister has special interest in the development and prosperity of Balochistan. Amir Muqam said that the development of Balochistan is the highest priority of the federal government as it has allocated Rs 130 billion from the development budget in the current PSDP for the upliftment of the province. He said Gwadar port will be practically functional and will be connected to Karachi road. Federal Minister Amir Maqam said that the Prime Minister has approved the solarization of 28,000 agricultural tube wells in Balochistan, which will bring a green revolution in the province. He said that by utilizing the mineral resources of the province, Pakistan and Balochistan can embark on the path of development.
