Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan said he will move the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the Adiala Jail administration after he was denied permission to meet PTI founder Imran Khan.
Expressing his displeasure, the politician said, “I am going to the high court against the jail administration. I was not allowed to meet the PTI founder earlier and I am not allowed to meet him now.”
Speaking to reporters outside the prison on Friday, where the PTI founder was lodged, a senior leader of the party said that he would ignore the case filed against the prison administration.
The Member of National Assembly (MNA) revealed that he was even imprisoned in Adiala Jail earlier and was treated like a football and thrown here for security reasons.
He said the same was done in the meeting with Aly Khan.
The politician said he has confidence in the country’s defense and security agencies for Khan’s safety in the matter of the ousted prime minister’s appearance in the Supreme Court.
Khan resigned as prime minister in 2022 after a no-confidence motion against him.
“We believe that Imrankhan can be safely brought to Supreme Court,” lawmaker said.
The politician approached Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Kazi Faez Isa and demanded that Khan be summoned to the apex court instead of being asked to attend the hearing through a video link.
The plea came a day after Khan, who has been detained since his arrest from Zaman Park in the Toshakhana case in August last year, approached the SC to present his arguments through a video link on the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) bill to amend the law. .
While Khan was in jail, his virtual appearance was made possible for the first time after the bench approved his request to testify.
