Islamabad: Mr Abdul Aleem Khan has recently been appointed as Minister of State in the Board of Investment (BOI). In his first official act after assuming office, Mr. Khan made an inaugural visit to the BOI after the oath-taking ceremony. Accompanied by 19 members of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s new cabinet, Mr Khan was given a warm welcome at the BOI.
During his visit, Mr. Khan was given a comprehensive briefing by Additional Secretary, Maam Ambreen Iftakhar and Executive Director, Mr. Khashi ur Rehman where he was briefed on the key initiatives and priorities of BOI.
Mr. Khan’s extensive experience in public service and his unwavering commitment to economic development make him a valuable addition to the BOI. His visit underscores the government’s commitment to promoting investment and economic growth in Pakistan.
Born on March 5, 1972 in Lahore, Mr. Aleem Khan graduated from Government College, Lahore in 1992. A successful businessman, he became a dedicated civil servant and served as a member of the Punjab Provincial Assembly from 2003 to 2003. 2007. During his tenure, he held the prestigious position of Minister for Information Technology.
In the 2018 general elections, Mr. Khan was re-elected to the Punjab Assembly for a second term. From 2018 to 2019, he took on the role of Minister for Local Government and Community Development, and subsequently served as Senior Minister for Food from 2019 to 2021.
