SWAT: The seventh Syndicate meeting of Agricultural University, Swat was held under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Dawood Jan and increased of Rs 40 Million. The participants of the meeting praised the excellent financial and administrative discipline of the university and approved all the points of the agenda.
Former Chief Conservator Forest Sanaullah Khan, Higher Education Commission Islamabad Professor Dr. Ghulam Raza Bhatti, Additional Secretary of Higher Education Department Javed Iqbal, Additional Secretary of Establishment Department Jamaluddin, Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Department and Zain Ali Raza from Finance Department were present in the meeting.
Deputy Secretary Akasha Karan, Agriculture University Finance Adviser Akbar Khan and Deputy Registrar Dr. Abrarul Haq attended. Mian Iqbal Shah and Ghayur Danish also participated in the meeting.
The meeting implemented the decisions taken in its sixth meeting, approved the recommendations of the eighth meeting of the Finance Committee, approved the decisions of the Investment Committee and also approved the establishment of a Contributory Welfare Fund for students. Determination of fees for examinations and transport, appointment of advisors, extension of scholarships to students of all districts of the province, investment policy, raising the minimum salary of employees to increase of four crore rupees in the scholarship endowment fund was also approved.
In the meeting, the representative of the Department of Agriculture was nominated as a member of the Finance Committee and also approved the recommendations of the Academic Council to allow admission to FSC Computer Science students.
The meeting was informed that recently the Higher Education Commission Islamabad has included the University of Agriculture along with thirty four universities from across the country for automation.
Apart from this, this university has also been selected for the training of administrative officers.
Meanwhile, the university has been provided with a grant of five million rupees last June as well as one and a half million rupees for this training. Which is an honor for this new university.
The participants of the meeting paid tribute to the management of the university for the exemplary discipline of the university, for making practical suggestions and for providing facilities and scholarships for the students.
The participants stated that the university has always given first priority to the facilities and scholarships of its students and today’s decisions are also milestones for the welfare and quality education of the students and will have far-reaching consequences.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dawood Jan told the meeting that the university has made great progress in a short period of about three and a half years.
He said that all the administrative meetings of the university have played a role in this development.
He appreciated the efforts of his management team and thanked the participants for their cooperation and service to the university.
