KABUL: Afghanistan on Tuesday appointed former West Indies outfielder and leading 20-wicket scorer Dwayne Bravo as a bowling consultant for next month’s World Cup.
“West Indies World Cup winner Bravo has been appointed as a bowling consultant and will accompany the team in the preparation camp ahead of the marquee event,” ACB said in a statement.
Many members of the Afghanistan team have arrived in the Caribbean for a 10-day training session where Bravo will join them.
Afghanistan will play warm-up matches against Oman on May 29 and Scotland two days later.
West Indies are in Group C with New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Uganda as hosts.
The first World Cup is on June 5 in Guyana against Uganda.
20 competing teams are divided into four groups of five and the top two teams in each advance to the Super Eight.
