ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Mahmood Achakzai has refused to represent Imran Khan in talks with the establishment.
In a statement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Khawaja Asif said that Mahmood Khan Achakzai is expected to represent the PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) founder in talks with the establishment. He mentioned that he stated on the TV show last night that in his opinion it was not possible.
He added that he asked Mahmood Khan Achakzai about it today during a meeting in the National Assembly and Achakzai’s reply was negative saying that he cannot fulfill this role.
Khawaja Asif slammed the PTI founder’s proposal as always insincere, without seriousness and nothing more than political theatre.
