ISLAMABAD: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai has opposed the anti-India resolution in the National Assembly.
A resolution related to the amendment to the Indian Constitution was introduced in Pakistan’s National Assembly on Tuesday and was approved by a majority vote.
Achakzai said the People’s Party workers had sacrificed for the constitution and parliament. He said they will not let the House continue if it continues on the same trajectory.
He said he was against the Kashmir resolution because he wanted to change it. He said his party has always supported the freedom movement. He said Kashmiris should ask where they want to go.
Achakzai asked who arrested the assembly member Haji Imtiaz? He also criticized the speaker, who he said failed to produce the missing member.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said, “You called me a havaldar. A havaldar is the first line of defense.”
He said that the resolution could be objected to but could not be debated like this.
