Mardan: Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan and Hebai University China will establish the world’s most modern yeast research laboratory at a cost of 30 crores in Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. This research project will be completed with the cooperation of Dr. Zia Islam, a world-renowned researcher of the Department of Biotechnology of Abdul Wali Khan University and Prof. Fanali Zing of Hebai Agriculture University of China
Its aim is to meet the shortage of protein in animal feed in Pakistan and China. The establishment of the modern lab will significantly reduce the import of protein in Pakistan and save the country valuable foreign exchange. The duration of the project is 3 years, and under this project 50 students and faculty members will be trained in China. And the students of Abdul Wali Khan University will be given special scholarships for MPhil and Ph.D.
