Aamir Khan always knows. Even though Betbagt Laal Singh has not announced any new projects after Chadha, speculations are rife about the Sarfarosh sequel. But is there room for a sequel to a movie set 25 years ago?
Amir Khan always means what he says. So it was a surprise to hear Sarfarosh saying that there will be a sequel at the 25th anniversary screening of Sarfarosh.
I remember talking to director John Matthew Mathen a few years after Sarfarosh was released, and he said, “I don’t think there’s room to push the story forward. We say what we have to say. Nothing more than that,” he said.
So, does Amir Sarfarosh think the media is funny with his follow-up test?
I decided to discuss the topic of Sarfarosh sequel with Aamir. He said, “Try to see how the script turns out. It all depends on that.”
When I told him that he had just seen Sarfarosh and he was still doing well, Amir said, “I’m very happy. Cash met me. Apparently, Sonali Bendre (who played the female lead in Sarfarosh) made her debut a few days ago!”
Amir also said that he was happy with the success of Kiran Rao’s Laapata Laapata team. “Kiran has made a beautiful film,” he said.
