Swabi: Swabi University and Women University Swabi are currently facing administrative challenges due to the absence of regular Vice Chancellors. Professor Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak, who was serving as the Vice Chancellor of Swabi University, has completed his three-year tenure and has stepped down. However, no Pro Vice Chancellor has been appointed yet, leaving the Registrar to manage the university’s daily affairs. The lack of a senior authority has limited the ability to make major decisions.
Similarly, Women University Swabi is also struggling with a leadership crisis. Professor Nasir Jamal, who was previously the Vice Chancellor of Swabi University, held the caretaker charge of Women University as well. After his departure, the university remains without a regular Vice Chancellor, Dean, or Pro Vice Chancellor, resulting in the Registrar overseeing the institution’s operations.
According to sources, Women University Swabi has been without a permanent Vice Chancellor since March 8, 2023, and no significant development projects have been initiated during this period. This situation has had a negative impact on the administrative and academic functioning of the university.
Students and faculty members have urged the authorities to expedite the appointment of a regular Vice Chancellor so that the universities can overcome these challenges and continue to progress towards their educational goals.
