Asif Awan (Bureau Report) regarding the alleged disappearance of an MRI machine worth over Rs 300 million in Ayub Medical Complex, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Health, MPA Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, has summoned a meeting at Ayub Teaching Hospital on Saturday, February 22. In the meeting of the Standing Committee to be held in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday, the members of the committee could not be satisfied due to the non-provision of records and vague arguments.
According to details, the Standing Committee on Health met yesterday. Which was chaired by Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Health. On this occasion, members of the committee, officers of the Health Department and Ayub Medical Teaching Hospital were also present.
The agenda of the meeting was regarding the MRI machine. In a message released on social media, Standing Committee Chairman Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani said that after a long discussion in the meeting, no conclusion could be reached. The management of Ayub Teaching Hospital could not satisfy the committee regarding the machine. Sometimes they say that it was purchased new and sometimes they say that the machine was repaired. It will also be seen whether the COPERA rules were followed.
As the matter was not clear in the meeting, it was decided that the next meeting will be held at Ayub Teaching Hospital, in which the staff will also be questioned and the records will also be seen on whose orders all this happened. He has expressed his determination that he will not leave this matter without reaching a final conclusion. It should be noted that the machine worth more than 300 million rupees, allegedly stolen from Ayub Medical Complex, was shown to the media.
The first meeting of the standing committee was held on January 2, in which formal notice was taken of it, however, the committee expressed its deep anger over the non-participation of senior officers of the health department. The second meeting of this series was held on January 20, in which a sub-committee was formed and given 30 days to compile a report. In which MPA Shehla Bano, a member of the committee, was also included. In the third meeting of the committee yesterday, the administration of Ayub Teaching Hospital also failed to provide an explanation. On which the next meeting was called at Ayub Teaching Hospital on Saturday.
