Dhudial – A meeting regarding the drought situation in the country was held in the Committee Room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) Muhammad Shahab Aslam. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners, Rescue 1122 Incharge Dr. Attique Ahmed, Chief Officers of Municipal Committees, and officials from relevant departments.
During the briefing, Rescue 1122 Incharge Dr. Attique Ahmed stated that Chakwal is a rain-fed area, and the lack of rainfall has affected water reservoirs, which will have consequences on all sectors of life. Therefore, departments must set their priorities regarding alternative sources and modern resources, inform the public, and ensure implementation.
ADCR Muhammad Shahab Aslam directed the Assistant Commissioners to hold meetings in their respective tehsils to assess the damage caused by the drought in various sectors and prepare a comprehensive report on its solutions and priorities. He also instructed officials of all relevant institutions to develop and present their contingency plans.
