Abbottabad: The police have taken into custody the accused who lured an orphan child and snatched gold ornaments worth millions of rupees from a widow within the limits of the Pohar Hall Lakhala outpost of Sherwan police station. The police station’s reconciliation committee has decided to collect one lakh rupees in cash from the accused for selling the gold ornaments and then deposit 30,000 rupees monthly. The victim’s uncle has expressed satisfaction with the police action and the decision of the DRC. According to sources, the accused Shafiq Sultan allegedly snatched three and a half tolas of jewelry worth one million rupees by threatening a 12-year-old orphan child. After the incident, the police took action on the information of the victim’s uncle, Haq Nawaz son of Haji Shahzaman, and detained the accused. He confessed to the crime during the investigation. In this regard, the matter was considered in the police station’s reconciliation committee, where Abdul Qayyum and members, while giving a decision, collected one lakh rupees in cash from the accused for selling the ornaments and monthly 30,000 was made mandatory to be collected at the police station. While the SHO of the police station, Sardar Nazak Mahmood, Investigation Officer Zubair and the people of the area were also present on thisg occasion. Haq Nawaz, the uncle of the affected child, thanked the SHO, DRC members of the police station, the investigation officer and the people of the area.
