MARDAN : Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, stated that due to the poor performance and failed policies of the PTI government, the province is facing economic decline and a deteriorating law and order situation. He accused the PTI of squandering national treasury and public resources on political rallies instead of public welfare. He claimed that the increasing trend of corruption and nepotism in the province is clear proof of PTI’s failure. Furthermore, he alleged that PTI has left Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the mercy of terrorists, and even the provincial chief minister cannot visit his hometown.
He asserted that the provincial government has brought the Pashtun nation to the brink of destruction and is misleading the youth with deceptive slogans. He emphasized that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is a democratic and people-centric party whose decisions are always made in the interest of the people. He credited the PPP for always putting Pakistan on the path of progress, highlighting that making Pakistan a nuclear power was due to the efforts of the PPP. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi congratulated Aurangzeb Khan on joining PPP after resigning from the Awami National Party (ANP), calling him a dedicated worker whose inclusion would further strengthen the party. He expressed these views while addressing a joining ceremony at Aurangzeb Khan’s residence in Takht Bhai on Friday.On this occasion, PPP’s provincial president Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, Mardan district president Asadullah Khan, Malik Tamash Khan, General Secretary Namdar Shagai, Mardan Division president Umar Farooq Khan, and Aurangzeb Khan, among others, also addressed the gathering. PPP provincial leader Humayun Khan, provincial council member Bacha Hussain, Suvera Prakash, Irfan Khan, former MNA Malik Azmat Khan, Zahid Durrani, Tahir Abbas Khan, Yawar Nasir Khan, Malik Tamash Khan, Ayub Khan, Asad Kashmiri, Abid Ali Shah, Shams Sherpao, former Tehsil Nazim Javed Khan, PPP Labor Wing provincial president Shah Zulqarnain, Comrade Anwar Zeb Khan, Syed Bacha Mohmand, Ibrahim Syed Yousafzai, PPP Youth president Imran Khan Mohmand, Niaz Ali Khan Yousafzai, Yousaf Khan Mohmand, Shahjahan Khan, and other party leaders were also present.
The speakers stated that the PPP considers public prosperity and economic stability essential for national progress and stability. They emphasized that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s slogan of “Roti, Kapra, aur Makan” (Bread, Clothing, and Shelter) was actually a vision of economic prosperity, for which Shaheed Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life. They noted that President Asif Ali Zardari’s slogan “Pakistan Khappay” (Pakistan is needed) and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s continuous efforts are in line with this vision.
The PPP upholds the supremacy of law and is committed to ensuring democracy and the rule of law in the country. The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa appreciated the positive economic measures of the federal government and highlighted the crucial role of the private sector. He stressed that strong cooperation between the government and the private sector is necessary for promoting investment and reviving the economy. He stated that collaboration between the public and private sectors is indispensable for national progress, which can help stabilize the economy and accelerate development.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi criticized the recent tax imposed on farmers by the provincial government, calling it cruel and irrational. He revealed that even lands swallowed by rivers have been taxed, and there is a 45% tax on income exceeding 150 million rupees. He assured that this anti-farmer bill has been halted. He stated that the Governor House is open for farmers and condemned the tax imposed even on lands lost to river erosion.He emphasized that tolerance and a culture of respect are the beauty of politics and governance. However, he regretted that the traditions and high political values of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been trampled by a so-called political party.Mardan district president Asad Khan reiterated that the PPP considers public prosperity and economic stability crucial for national development. He reaffirmed that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s slogan of “Roti, Kapra, aur Makan” was a vision of economic prosperity, for which Shaheed Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life. He praised President Asif Ali Zardari for uniting the nation with his “Pakistan Khappay” slogan and emphasized that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is striving to realize this vision.The PPP believes in the rule of law, democracy, and ensuring legal governance in the country.
