Dhudial: Deputy Commissioner Chakwal Qurat-ul-Ain Malik inaugurated the National Polio Eradication Campaign in Chakwal District by administering polio vaccination drops to children at the Child Protection Bureau Center, located near the nomadic settlement in Moza Dab. Present on the occasion were Assistant Commissioner Chakwal Zeeshan Sharif Qaisrani, CEO Health Dr. Saeed Akhtar, Community Communication Officer Maryam Ashraf, and UNICEF Officer Muhammad Bilal.
Speaking after the inauguration, Deputy Commissioner Qurat-ul-Ain Malik emphasized that the National Polio Eradication Campaign guarantees a healthy and secure future for the nation’s children. She stressed that parental cooperation is crucial for the success of each vaccination round. Addressing parents, she urged them to take full responsibility for their children’s well-being by ensuring that all children under the age of five receive polio drops from health teams to protect them from lifelong disability.
It is noteworthy that the polio eradication campaign in the district will run from February 3 to February 7, 2025. During this period, more than 257,000 children under five years of age will be administered polio drops. The Deputy Commissioner specifically instructed the relevant District Health Authority officials to ensure that 100% vaccination targets are met, so that no child in the district is left unvaccinated.
Furthermore, Deputy Commissioner Chakwal directed that polio drops should also be administered at public places and transit points, ensuring 100% vaccination coverage for migrant children.
