Dhudial: The expenses for the food of the force brought from other districts to Chakwal to counter Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) protest have not been paid even after two months. According to sources, a few days before November 26, personnel from the Chakwal Patrolling Police were deployed at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-Punjab border to stop PTI’s rally. Additionally, more than 450 police personnel from other districts of Punjab were called in and stationed at entry and exit points of Chakwal district, with their accommodation and meals assigned to the respective police stations.
After the protest ended, the police personnel returned to their respective districts, but not a single penny of their expenses during the stay has been paid yet. Sources revealed that the federal government released millions of rupees in funds to cover administrative expenses for handling the protest. However, the question remains: who will pay the pending bills for the hospitality of the stationed personnel?
Even after two months, the issue remains unresolved, and the affected personnel are still waiting for their due compensation. The Chief Minister of Punjab and the Inspector General of Punjab Police are urged to take immediate notice of the matter and issue orders for the release of funds.
