Dhadial: A “Farmers’ Day” event was organized under the supervision of the Agriculture Extension Department Chakwal, with Assistant Commissioner Chakwal, Zeeshan Sharif Qaisrani, and Pakistan Muslim League (N) PP-20 Incharge Public Secretariat, Chaudhry Shehryar, as the chief guests. A large number of farmers, including former Chairman Municipal Committee Chakwal, Chaudhry Sajjad Ahmed, participated in the event.
While addressing the gathering, Assistant Commissioner Chakwal, Zeeshan Sharif Qaisrani, stated that farmers would be provided with all possible facilities. He mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab government is taking effective measures for the betterment of agriculture and farmers.
Assistant Director Agriculture Extension Chakwal, Waseem Abbas, in his speech, said that according to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, the wheat production targets in Chakwal have been successfully achieved. He described the Kisan Card, Green Tractor Scheme, and the provision of modern machinery as farmer-friendly initiatives by the government.
Deputy Director Kazim Hussain Shah stated that Chakwal is a rain-fed area, and the Kisan Card has provided significant support to the farmers. He informed that a target of 400 acres of cotton cultivation has been set for Chakwal, which will be achieved. However, he highlighted staff shortages as a major issue.
Chaudhry Shehryar said that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) has always taken steps for the welfare of farmers. He assured that the issue of staff shortage would be raised at the highest level, and farmers’ problems would be resolved on a priority basis.
During the event, agricultural experts provided farmers with useful advice regarding modern wheat and cotton cultivation techniques and appreciated the farmer-friendly initiatives of the Punjab government.
