Peshawar: A high-level meeting was held on the situation of Kurram district in which the spokesperson of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, IG Police and other civil and police officers participated. In the meeting, it was decided to take strict action against the miscreants without discrimination. On this development, the spokesman of the Provincial Government said that cruel elements will be brought to justice in any case. The spokesman said that the action against some miscreants in the affected areas has become inevitable, the peace agreement will be implemented according to law and Pashtun traditions. Security forces will be present in support to assist the police and civil administration in action against miscreants. The spokesperson said that the government is of view that some miscreants have infiltrated among the peaceful people, and action will be taken to separate peaceful element from the miscreants to save the public from harm. The spokesman said that the best alternative accommodation arrangements have been made for the people of the affected areas, adding that the government requests both parties of the Kurram Peace accord to help the law enforcement agencies in identifying the miscreants in their midst. The spokesman said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has been trying to restore peace in Kurram amicably for the past three months. In a dastardly attempt, the miscreants attacked the Deputy Commissioner, in which he was seriously injured, the miscreants are also targeting security forces personnel and relief convoys. The spokesman said that the people are requested to cooperate fully with the security forces in the affected areas, the government will soon eliminate the miscreants from the affected areas and restore peace in the area. The spokesperson said that the government has tried its best to restore peace according to the peace agreement, the people of Kurram want peace and respect and abide by the peace agreement.
