Dhudial: According to sources, higher authorities have issued orders to the personnel stationed at patrolling posts to check the identity cards of 700 individuals daily using machines, and this target must be achieved at all costs. During this checking at checkpoints, not only is the public’s time wasted, but long queues of vehicles are also observed.
This situation has left not only the police personnel frustrated, as they face public anger, but the citizens are also suffering due to this draconian order. Public circles have demanded from the senior officials of the Highway Patrolling Police to review the current targets for checking and issue new SOPs to alleviate the public’s difficulties at checkpoints.
