Islamabad: The Excise and Taxation Department, considering the public rush, has extended the token tax deadline by another 15 days.
A decision has been made to cancel the registration of vehicles for non-payment of token tax and impose a fine of up to 200%.
The Excise and Taxation Department has decided to cancel the registration of vehicles belonging to token tax defaulters.
The department had announced the cancellation of registration for token tax defaulters and a 200% fine for the restoration of vehicle registration.
For smart card users, the facility to pay token tax is available 24/7 from home through the Islamabad City App.
Vehicle owners who have not paid token tax for years are advised to immediately submit their taxes.
Defaulters have been given an additional deadline until January 31 to pay their dues.
For citizens’ convenience, excise counters will remain open until 8 PM.
Director Excise and Taxation, Bilal Azam Khan, has appealed to citizens to promptly pay their token tax to avoid any legal action.
