According to Wabetainfo, Meta is incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into every aspect of its messaging app. A new AI tab has been added to the beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices, allowing users to access multiple AI tools offered by the company.
The AI tab will include various features, such as one for popular AI characters, enabling users to chat with different AI bots on various topics. Additionally, AI-generated stickers, images, and Meta’s AI search engine will be available there. While AI stickers and images are already accessible, this update aims to centralize all these features in one place.
The redesign aims to make AI more prominent, increasing the usage of these tools. The update will also affect the Communities tab, which will be removed and incorporated into the Chats tab.
The report also mentions that Meta is working on custom AI bots for WhatsApp, which will be an improved version of Instagram’s AI studio. It remains uncertain how many users will be interested in creating their own custom AI bots, as many might be satisfied with the existing bots or prefer chatting with real humans.
