If you haven’t watched ‘Shin Chan,’ you can’t truly call yourself an anime fan. The children-friendly comedy series has a global fanbase, and if you are a true fan, you must remember Shin-chan’s home with its red and white brick structure.
Believe it or not, a 21-year-old young man spent almost $400,000, around 35 million rupees, to recreate this house and live in it.
According to Chinese media reports, Shin took over his family’s sheep farm and spent over a year working on this project. He even tracked down a special licensing agent for Crayon Shin-chan in China and made five trips to Shanghai to acquire official rights.
The construction of the house began in July 2024. Custom materials were required for the project, which made it even more expensive.
Shin’s mother helped fund the project to make his dream a reality. The completed house spans around 100 square meters and is expected to become a hotspot for fans and visitors. Shin’s plans don’t stop at this house; he hopes to recreate the anime character Futaba Kindergarten and turn it into an educational center.
His ultimate dream is to build a full-scale Kasukabe Town from Shin-chan and create a real-world place where fans can experience Shin-chan’s world like never before.
It’s noteworthy that the Crayon Shin-chan series was created by Yoshito Usui, with the comic series debuting in 1990 and quickly becoming a fan favorite for its unique humor and relatable characters.
